I also think it's using IMAP because of what you said earlier it doesn't sync contacts, calendars, etc.to any of the devices. However I'm not 100% sure, also when logged into the interface it has IMAP selected and if there is ever an error on a mobile device it says it's the IMAP server. Interlock that sounds like it would be super simple, I believe we are using active sync because whenever we setup new clients that's the server type we choose exchange and when logged into the management interface we can wipe the devices which is a feature of active sync. Thank you in advance for any and all replies/answers. Once moved over, would the process be the same to set this up? Integrating the new server with AD so that it will auto-manage the email accounts as we add or remove AD accounts, is there a way to tie the old mailboxes to the new AD generated email accounts? Or would those accounts only be able to start over with a fresh mailbox therefore losing their old emails? I am also wondering if there are any other methods that don't require us to manually move 160+ emails/mailboxes for example something like SkyKick but that can go from MDaemon to 365? I did a little prior research that suggested we go around to each of the machines and export the mailboxes into pst files and then import them into Outlook or something along those lines it wasn't clearly defined, if that is correct could someone explain that a little more please?įor anyone that has made this transition in the past how difficult was it and do you have any tips or suggestions to make the transition as smooth as possible?

Would the process be the same for all three options? Also the current MDaemon server is not integrated into AD in the sense that right now we have two separate users one for email and one for logging into our domain, this is something else we would like to fix. We haven't completely decided whether or not we want to stay on premises and just switch to exchange, do only Microsoft hosted exchange, or go full 365. Right now we are running an on premises MDaemon Email server with approximately 160 users with the larger mailboxes approaching 5GB. To start off, I am new to working with email servers so I apologize ahead of time if I ask you to explain further or just ask a dumb question in general.
